Bernard Lim Specialist Surgery
Dr Bernard Lim is a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon and an accredited Console Surgeon for the Da Vinci Robotic Surgical System Platform. He is currently the Chairman for the Chapter of General Surgeons, College of Surgeons, Singapore (2015-2019). Dr Lim is also a Life member of the prominent Endoscopic, Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia. (ELSA), and has also served in the Medical Advisory Board in Mt Elizabeth Novena Hospital.
Dr Lim was trained in the Department of Colorectal Surgery at the Singapore General Hospital, where he was a Consultant Surgeon. He has performed hundreds of colon and rectal surgeries in both laparoscopic and open techniques. His area of specialty is in Colorectal Surgery and his subspecialty interest is in Minimally Invasive Colorectal Surgery. These included conventional laparoscopic (“key-hole), single-port and robotic surgery.
Dr Lim received the prestigious Singhealth HMDP fellowship to train at Queen Mary Hospital in advanced minimally invasive surgery. Since then, he has conducted several workshops and courses in laparoscopic colorectal surgery. He has trained colorectal specialist and trainees in Advanced Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery both locally (in Singapore General Hospital and Changi General Hospital) and regionally, and is still an active visiting consultant at the Department of Surgery at Changi General Hospital. He was an adjunct asst professor in DUKE-NUS graduate medical school, as well as clinical lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine, National University of Singapore.
