Focal Eye Centre

Dr Zena Lim is a USA fellowship trained Consultant Ophthalmologist and Adult & Pediatric Eye Surgeon. She is the Medical Director of the Focal Eye Centre and The Children's Eye & ENT Centre. She had previously served as Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School. 

Her inspiration to take up the field of ophthalmology stems from two things: her motivation to lead people out of the frightening situation of potential vision loss and her fascination for the mechanisms of the eye’s delicate features.

Besides being proficient in all aspects of general ophthalmology including: 

● Customised cataract surgery

● Glaucoma lasers and surgery

● Diabetic and degenerative eye management

● Droopy or inturned eyelid correction

● Retinal lasers and injections

Dr Zena Lim has special interests in squint (“eye misalignment”) surgery for adults and children and in paediatricophthalmology. 

Dr Zena Lim received her subspeciality training at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto (Canada) and Duke University Eye Centre, North Carolina (USA). She has presented and lectured at many international and regional conferences, and is the first author of numerous peer-reviewed indexed medical journals. She topped her cohort, receiving the Gold Medal for Ophthalmology in the M.Med examinations, as well as the Ministry of Health’s Health Manpower Development Award for subspeciality training in Ophthalmology.
