Petite Smiles

Dr Ng Jing Jing graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2002. After graduation, she worked at Health Promotion Board, School Dental Service (SDS) as a Dental Officer. In 2005, she was awarded an overseas Manpower Development Scholarship by the Ministry of Health to pursue Paediatric Dentistry in University College London (UCL-Eastman), UK. She completed her Master in Clinical Dentistry (Paediatric Dentistry) in 2007. Upon graduation, she continued to serve for six years in the School Dental Service as the in-house Specialist and was also a Visiting Specialist at the National University Hospital Dental Centre (NUH) and part-time Clinical Teacher in the Faculty of Dentistry, NUS.

Working six years in Public Service and in the University Hospital has allowed Dr Ng to gain valuable experience and skills in the management of children requiring extensive dental work. In addition, she has special interest in dental trauma and the management of children with special needs.

Dr Ng left for private practice in 2013 but continues to serve the public sector as a Visiting Consultant at the Cleft and Craniofacial Centre at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Working in private practice had enabled Dr Ng to use the Nitrous Oxide (Inhalation) Sedation Technique, and she finds that the “happy air” is a great way to put children at ease during difficult dental procedures.

Her professional memberships include the Society for Paediatric Dentistry (Singapore) and the European Academy of Paediatric Dentistry. In dental education, Dr Ng is a lecturer in the Institution of Technical Education (NITEC in Dental Assisting) and in the National University of Singapore, Faculty of Dentistry.
