The Orthopaedic Practice and Surgery
(Dr Lim Chin Tat)

The Orthopaedic Practice and Surgery (TOPS) is a specialist orthopaedic clinic providing holistic and patient-centered orthopaedic and sports injury care. Dr Lim Chin Tat is our senior orthopaedic surgeon as well as medical director. Dr Lim is a Singapore Ministry of Health accredited, USA and UK clinical fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon with a special interest in complex joint replacement, robotic-assisted joint replacement and sports surgeries. Dr Lim undertook clinical fellowship in adult reconstruction and sports surgery at Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford University Hospital Trust, NHS in 2015 under Professor Andrew Price and Professor David Murray. There, he gained proficiency in sports surgeries, hip arthroscopy, uni-compartmental knee replacement, complex hip and knee replacement. Thereafter, Dr Lim also completed a twelve months clinical fellowship in adult reconstruction at Stanford Hospital and Clinics, Stanford University, California, United States of America in 2016 under Professor Stuart Goodman and Professor William Maloney. Dr Lim was involved in the management of complex primary and revision hip and knee surgeries as well as sports surgeries. Dr Lim was also involved in the management of outpatient joint replacement surgeries in both centres. Prior to joining private practice, Dr Lim was serving as Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the National University Hospital, and Assistant Professor, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS).

Upon completion of the fellowships, Dr Lim was accepted as an International Fellow of American College of Surgeons in 2017. Being a part of only a small handful of orthopaedic surgeons in Singapore who completed clinical fellowship in the United States, Dr Lim is one of only three orthopaedic surgeons who has been accepted into the American College of Surgeons.

Dr Lim is also the Medical Director of the Singapore Muaythai Federation, taking care of many of the muaythai fighters and ensuring they are fit for competitive tournaments. Dr Lim has recently also completed his Graduate Diploma of Sports Medicine (Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, NTU). He is one of the few orthopaedic surgeon in Singapore with a Sports Medicine Diploma. The additional knowledge and exposure to sports medicine allows him to better care for patients with sports related injuries.
